What's coming is Better

1 Peter 5:10 "After you have suffered a little while God will restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you."

This is my scripture for this week.  It is an affirmation that God has not forgotten me.  I've been through a great deal over the past couple of years. I have sometimes felt alone.  I lot of people have left my life and I am sure it was for the best.   I know that I am not alone in having faced trials and test. When I read news reports and even hear from other Christians all of the things they have and are facing makes me grab hold even more to the promises of God.  It let's me know that what is coming is better than what has been.

I was listening to Deon Kipping song, "What's coming is Better," thus the title of my blog this week.  It is just an inspiring song! Reading from Genesis-Revelation, God does not hide His plan.  Although we go through He has so much more for those who will trust Him.
Back to my passage for this week.  Four things I am assured after I have faced suffering is that God WILL (not maybe) but He will:

 1) Restore - restoration indicates that at some point you suffered loss but God reassures those who trust Him that He will restore what was loss.  And when God makes a promise, what you receive is so much better than what you can imagine.

 2) Confirm - confirmation of who you are gives a person confidence to do whatever it is God has called you to do. So this passage assures me that despite what the world has tried to make me, what the devil and people have said about me does not matter. God will confirm who I am and whose I am. Oh the joy of knowing that God is able to confirm all that He has said and promised.  He is the one who will prove me. Don't try to do it on your own.  Let God have His perfect way in your life.

 3) Strengthen -  some times physically we can be weak and unable to press because of illness, but it happens spiritually sometimes as well.  When God strengthens a person in comes from the inside out. The strength that believers receive gives them the ability to move forward in Christ, the ability to stand against the enemies devices.  Their faith is strengthen through the Word of God, which gives them the strength to overcome the trials and test they face.

 4) Establish - finally, to establish something, simply is to say that it will become "settled."  It is to be grounded and rooted in faith. Once having become firmly established in a thing, leaves no room for doubt and fear.

I won't give up on God... What is coming is Better!

Daily rant is not so daily

So I don't get here as often and I thought I would and my random daily is more random then daily.  Anyway, thank God it is Friday. I am on my way to a funeral shortly, and was thinking about how short life is for some and long for others.  My father was 98 years old when he passed.  He really wanted to leave this world as he got older.  He said that he was tired and ready to go, so when he went home to be with the Lord, although I missed him, I was so very happy that he was no longer bound to his earthly body.   Today, my friend's mom is being buried.  She was 91 years old and like me my friend says that her Mom knew when it was her time and was ready to go.

How many of us can truly say that we will be ready to die when it becomes our time?  Certainly, a thought to ponder, hmmm?  I am not afraid of what is to come. I believe God's word and that He has prepared a place to receive those who are trusting in His word.  Oh, well that's where my head and my heart was today.

2 Corinthians 5: "1For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

Talk is Cheap; Action Is Needed

Ezekiel 33: 30 “As for you, son of man, your people are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other, ‘Come and hear the message that has come from the Lord.’ 31 My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. 32 Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice. (NIV)"

Note:  I love this passage.  God just gets right to the heart of the matter.  People who just talk about Sunday's message without applying it are deceiving themselves.  Action is needed if the word is going to be affective in your life.  It is the only sure way that leads to transformation.

Reminder:  James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Okay, so maybe this will become an every other day blog  until I get back into the swing of writing.   ;-)  It's been a great  but busy week.

My random thought for today is actually in the form of a question. Why is it that people who discuss End-time related events are often viewed as having some emotional problem?  They are usually depicted on television as raving lunatics screaming divine justice either on a street corner or as they wander glassy eyed around the cities they live.  Their hair and clothing is also usually torn, dirty or disheveled.  They are made to look as if their entire life is out of order.  And yet, in reality those that I know who have studied these events in detail are in no way out of their mind.   In fact, it is just the opposite, they are well informed concerning both Biblical truths and current news events.  They are more then able to present their arguments reasonably and with integrity.  Anyway, it was an interesting thought.

If they are crazy, it is not for the things of this world.  They have their minds set on kingdom.

My memory verse this week was Luke 12:29-31   "29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well."

Random Daily

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

Wow, it has been a long time since I have blogged.  Just the same, I'm creating this blog so I can start writing again.  Writing my thoughts down on paper have always helped me to focus, so why not blog?  Just maybe I'll finish my book while at it :)

So "Random Daily" will simply be just that a daily post of spontaneous thoughts that may occur throughout my day.
